2013 Testing at Circuit Icar

June 4 2013 Teixeira and the Lombardi Honda Fit took to the Montreal facility of Icar. This would be Teixeira's first chance to really to push his new Canadian Touring Car Championship B-spec ride. After coming off a severe right ankle injury just a few weeks before the test it would be interesting to see how he handled his transition from karting to cars.
"It was my first time driving with a roof over my head and thankfully the hardest part of the test was the darkness setting in over Icar" Laughed Teixeira.
Rui has spent time at the Lombardi Honda Shop getting to know the team and Team owner over the summer as this was his transition year from the highest level of Canadian karting. Coming off a 3 year position at Racing Edge Motorsports in karting the time was right to make the jump into cars. REM has groomed Teixeira very well since 2011 putting him in a position to take on the best touring car racers in the country.
